Just as expected when Roma brought in Romelu Lukaku on loan, Roma are seeking to make the deal for the Belgian attacker permanent.
In Mourinho's eyes, Lukaku is the perfect striker for his football and Roma must do all they can to ensure he stays on for years to come. This could also be one of Mourinho's conditions in order to extend his own contract.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma are already working to finalize a deal with Chelsea, hoping to extend his contract for a couple years.
As many already know, Chelsea has put a 42 million euro release clause in Lukaku's contract, something Roma will only achieve with Champions League qualification.
We will see what happens going forward but this is something Roma MUST get done in order to push forward and reach their potential.
